San Diego. Kasper Ruud was stronger than Grigor Dimitrov in the semifinals
Tenth-ranked Norwegian Kasper Ruud beat 29th-ranked Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 6/4, 4/6, 6/4 in the semifinals at the San Diego tournament.
In 2 hours and 29 minutes, Ruud, 22, had three aces, two service errors and six break points, while Dimitrov, 30, had four aces, four doubles and five break points. It was the first official meeting between the athletes.
Ruud will face Britain’s Cameron Norrie in the San Diego Open final.
