The results of the draw for the WTA BNP Paribas Open which starts on October 6 have been announced.

In the first round the Czech Karolina Pliskova will play against the winner of Zheng Saisai of China and Cathy McNally of the USA.

Second seed, Poland’s Iga Swiatek, will play either American Katie Wolyniec or Petra Martic of Croatia.

Third seed goes to Barbora Krechikova of the Czech Republic. She will face either a qualifier or Nao Hibino of Japan. Fourth seeded Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, who will play with either Czech Theresa Martincova or American Ashlyn Kruger.

The main draw will feature the following Russians: Daria Kasatkina, Veronica Kudermetova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Lyudmila Samsonova. They received the following opponents: Kasatkina – qualifier or Donna Vekic, Kudermetova – qualifier or Samsonova, Pavlyuchenkova – Kaya Canepi or Madison Keys.
